Wade Barrett says that what we just saw was an act of total domination. The Nexus have always been 100% behind a common purpose. John Cena’s team . . . or Chris Jericho’s team already has cracks. It is because of their individual egos and agendas. Wade says that at SummerSlam those cracks will destroy the foundation of that team.

WWE.com has uploaded some brand new digitals from Nexus’ s backstage attacks. be sure to check them out.
(8) John Cena beat WWE champion Sheamus via DQ in 22:00; Sheamus retained the WWE Title. Another very good house show formula match. Nexus delivered equal-opportunity beatings throughout. Early, Sheamus popped Wade Barrett on the first teased spot on the floor. Cena then knocked Sheamus to the floor and Nexus slowly circled him before beating him up a bit. They returned the favor to Cena moments later when Sheamus knocked him to the floor. Cena took another beating on the floor to build crowd tension before they cheered when Sheamus took another beating on the floor. This went on two more times before Sheamus sustained an attack in the ring. Cena teased a comeback, so Sheamus dumped him to the floor for Nexus to deliver another beating to help his cause. Nice spot. The next phase of the match was Sheamus hitting the big boot for a close nearfalls that popped the crowd. Cena then hit the Attitude Adjustment for a close nearfall. Sheamus avoided a corner attack, then Cena fell to the floor where Nexus sprung. Skip Sheffield took out Cena with ring steps, then Sheamus scored another close nearfall in the ring. Cena eventually countered into the STF and Sheamus teased a tap out. Of course, Nexus hit the ring to cause the DQ. (***)
Post-match: Team Cena second-stringers Evan Bourne and Santino stormed the ring. Nexus subdued them, then Orton’s music hit to bring out Orton, Team Cena, and other babyfaces. They cleared Nexus, who retreated to the back. Cena then led Orton, Bourne, Hart Dynasty, Goldust, and Santino in a curtain call to send the crowd home happy.

8. Sheamus fought John Cena to a no-contest when Nexus interfered in a WWE Championship match. I thought the roof was gonna blow off that place when Cena’s music hit. As Justin Roberts was about to do the ring announcements, the Raw General Manager tone hit. Another email was read stating this will be a Lumberjack match and the lumberjacks would be The Nexus. The Nexus came out and took their positions around the ring.
Every time Cena was thrown out Nexus beat on him. When Sheamus was thrown out Nexus gathered around him as to gang up on him but he ended up shaking hands with Wade Barrett. At one point, Barrett was on the apron and Sheamus accidently ran into him. Anytime Sheamus was outside the ring after that, Nexus roughed him up.
The match ended when the Nexus all jumped in the ring and beat on Cena as Sheamus ran to the back. Then Santino, Kozlov, and Bourne came to help, but that wasn’t enough. Orton’s music hit and he, David Smith, Tyson Kid, and Goldust came in and run off the Nexus. Afterward, they all celebrated in the ring together.

The intense rivalry between The Nexus and the Raw locker room has gotten increasingly heated this summer. It only makes sense, then, that an assemblage of Raw’s most battle-hardened warriors will put aside their differences when they face off against the vicious season one NXT Rookies in a 7-on-7 Tag Team Match at SummerSlam, summer’s hottest event.
Not only will Edge, Chris Jericho, R-Truth, John Morrison and The Great Khali join John Cena to quell this growing threat to Raw, but former Raw General Manager and WWE Hall of Famer Bret “Hit Man” Hart will stand alongside the seven-time WWE Champion in this momentous bout that is sure to shake the WWE Universe to its core.
When they made their explosive debut on Raw, The Nexus targeted then-WWE Champion Cena to send a clear message to the WWE Universe: NXT’s first graduating class is a force to be reckoned with. The group – led by NXT season one winner Wade Barrett – soon widened their scope of savagery to include the entire Raw roster because, as Barrett proclaimed, “If you’re not Nexus, you’re against us.”
Not content with roughing up Superstars, The Nexus turned their aggression on Raw’s former GM Bret Hart, viciously assaulting the Hall of Famer in a parking lot demanding and that he grant them WWE contracts. With The “Hit Man” out of the equation, WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon – in a move that he thought would sate the group’s thirst for destruction – replaced Hart with an anonymous new GM, who immediately hired The Nexus to Raw. Big mistake.
In a blatant display of disrespect, The Nexus brutalized Mr. McMahon later that night, going on to send shockwaves throughout the WWE Universe when they decimated WWE Legends such as Arn Anderson, Jerry “The King” Lawler and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, showing that there are no lines the furious upstarts won’t cross.
Just one night after costing Cena the WWE Championship at Money in the Bank, The Nexus boldly declared that they’d end their invasion of Raw if Cena joined their ranks. But the seven-time WWE Champion had a bombshell of his own to drop: He’s been forming a team to challenge the rebel faction at SummerSlam – a squad determined to make sure The Nexus will not go down in history, but rather ensure that the arm-banded warriors simply are history.
Can Cena’s team topple The Nexus once and for all? Or will the rebellious NXT season one Rookies continue to tighten their vise-like grip on Monday Night Raw? Find out by tuning in to SummerSlam on Aug. 15, only on pay-per-view.
